Hangovers are just awful! They happen due to dehydration, buildup of the toxic metabolite of alcohol, acetaldehyde, and oxidative damage/inflammation of the liver cells due to exposure to the toxic metabolites of alcohol. The good news…there is a lot we can do to prevent and treat hangovers by addressing the reasons they occur.
